Experience the Magic of Berlin’s Christmas Markets with a Local Expert
Join us on a festive journey through Berlin’s most iconic Christmas markets and historic sights. This atmospheric walking tour not only immerses you in the cozy glow of Berlin’s winter charm but also gives you the perfect introduction to the city’s holiday traditions — with plenty of insider tips along the way!
We begin our Christmas adventure right in front of Starbucks at Hackescher Markt, which is the perfect spot to grab a warm coffee or hot chocolate before we set off. Just a few steps away, you’ll find the famous Käthe Wohlfahrt Christmas Shop — we highly recommend popping in before the tour starts to marvel at its dazzling array of traditional ornaments and handcrafted decorations.
Our first official stop is the impressive Humboldt Forum, nestled in the reconstructed former Berlin City Palace. Here, you'll discover a charming hidden gem: a tucked-away Winter Market set against a fairytale backdrop of glittering lights. It’s the perfect spot for your first festive photo opportunity!
As we continue, you’ll pass by some of Berlin’s most famous landmarks — the TV Tower, Alexanderplatz, Neptunbrunnen, and the Rotes Rathaus (Red Town Hall). Here, you’ll catch the buzz of one of Berlin’s most lively Christmas markets, complete with a giant Ferris wheel and an ice skating rink, all framed by the city’s historic skyline.
Next, we wander into the picturesque Nikolaiviertel, the cradle of Berlin. With its medieval-style houses, narrow cobblestone lanes, and cozy Christmas market, it feels like stepping into a snow globe. Here, your guide will share the fascinating origins of beloved German holiday traditions and quirky anecdotes. To warm your hands and your heart, you'll also enjoy an included cup of hot mulled wine - or a non-alcoholic alternative, if you prefer - as you take in the sights.
Our grand finale is none other than Gendarmenmarkt — widely considered Berlin’s most beautiful Christmas market. With its elegant white tents, twinkling lights, and historic surroundings, this stunning market is a true holiday highlight. After your guide introduces you to the area, you’re free to continue exploring on your own — whether it’s sipping more Glühwein, browsing handcrafted goods, or tasting delicious seasonal treats like Bratwurst and candied nuts (Please be aware that the entry fee of 2,- EUR is not included in our tour).
