You will discover the neighborhood of Alfama, known as the heart of Lisbon, a maze of winding alleys and small traditional courtyards. This area survived the great earthquake and fires of 1755 and is preserved beautifully. Observe traditional Portuguese culture in these passageways: hear locals converse and Fado singers perform, smell the market sellers' grilled sardines and admire the historic buildings. Capture some stunning panoramas on this tour as you visit some breathtaking viewing points. Explore an inner city neighborhood of Lisbon on this exciting Sitway tour. Your tour guide will teach you how to ride the Sitway and explain some rules of the road. You will then traverse through the Lisbon's hilly, narrow laneways and courtyards with ease.You will visit Mouraria (the Moorish quarter), which is one of the oldest parts of the city and the most multicultural. After the conquest of Lisbon in 1147, King Afonso Henriques allowed a small Moorish community to continue inhabiting the area, and there are now 56 nations represented here.
